Is Climbing Coaching Right for You?

One-to-one coaching can be useful at almost any stage of your climbing.

It could be right for you if you:
-
Are relatively new to climbing and want to develop good movement habits
-
Feel like your climbing has reached a plateau
-
Want to improve your technique and efficiency
-
Find certain climbing movements particularly challenging
-
Want to improve your route reading and problem solving
-
Want to build confidence when climbing harder routes
-
Are looking for a more structured approach to your climbing training
-
Want individual feedback rather than general advice

You don't need to be an advanced climber. The coaching is adapted to your current ability and what you want to achieve.
Start With a Clearer Understanding of Your Climbing

Improving your climbing isn't always about getting stronger.

Sometimes a small change to your footwork, body position, movement or approach to a route can make a significant difference.

Our coaching starts by looking at how you currently climb, identifying areas that could be improved and then giving you practical ways to work on them.

Climbing Assessment – £75
A detailed assessment of your current climbing, including technique, movement and areas for development.

You'll leave with clear feedback and suggestions for how to continue your progression.
Climbing Coaching Built Around You

Every climber moves differently, which is why our coaching isn't based on a one-size-fits-all programme.
We'll work with you to understand your climbing, identify where you can make improvements and focus the session on the things that will have the greatest impact.

Assess
Look at your current technique, movement patterns, strengths and areas for development.

Coach
Work on specific techniques and movements through practical drills and climbing exercises.

Apply
Put the changes into practice on the wall and understand how to use them in your own climbing.
Progress

Leave with clear ideas and practical strategies that you can continue working on after your session.

What Can We Work On?

Your coaching session will depend on your goals, but we can work on a range of climbing skills.

Movement & Technique
Develop smoother, more efficient movement and learn how to use your body more effectively on the wall.

Footwork & Body Position
Improve foot placement, balance and body positioning to make climbing more controlled and efficient.

Route Reading
Learn how to analyse a climb before you leave the ground and make better decisions as you work through a route or problem.

Movement Skills
Develop your understanding and application of techniques such as flagging, drop knees, twisting and using momentum effectively.

Confidence
Explore the physical and mental aspects of climbing that can affect your confidence and performance.

Training Strategies
Understand how to structure your climbing and supplementary training to support longer-term progression.

How Climbing Coaching Works

We keep the process straightforward and focused on what you want to achieve.

1. Understand Your Goals
We'll discuss your climbing experience, what you're currently working on and what you'd like to improve.

2. Assess Your Climbing
We'll observe your movement and technique to identify strengths and areas where small changes could make a meaningful difference.

3. Focus Your Session
We'll work on the specific skills and movements most relevant to your climbing.

4. Take It Forward
You'll leave with practical feedback, exercises and ideas that you can continue applying to your own climbing.

The aim isn't simply to make you climb harder during one session. It's to help you understand your climbing and give you the tools to keep improving afterwards.
